Having designed POP IDOL in the u.k. it was a natural transition for me to design the U.S. version re named AMERICAN IDOL.  10 years and 5 sets later the show became the single most succesful television show in US history. I am delighted that I was nominated three times for an Emmy and won for best scenic design the fourth time. Pictured on this page is the first modest set.
